Senior Windows Virtual Infrastructure Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Windows Virtual Infrastructure Engineer in Austin, TX.Duties and Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following: Senior Windows Virtual Infrastructure Engineer will manage and maintain High Availability Datacenter Infrastructure - Physical & Virtual Servers, Virtual Desktops, and SAN Storage as per best practices Quickly troubleshoot to isolate and solve problems and adhere to best practices Provide L3 & L4 support; Be aware and react to down alerts and warnings coming in from our monitoring system, communicate and investigate in a timely fashion - escalate when necessary Perform occasional after-hours work and/or on weekends as needed to support business needs; attend and participate in departmental meetings Coordinate and perform system changes with strict adherence to our Change Control policy Ensure tickets are created, assigned, and updated appropriately with accurate time entries and resolution details of impending changes and/or agreed outages Perform installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows Servers of various roles (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, File and Print Services) Create and maintain documentation including inventory information and network diagrams Work with 3rd party vendors to perform installation, configuration, patching and support for their respective software Assist in the creation of BOMs (Bill of Materials), obtaining quotes from vendors where necessary - for the purpose of solution costing for new implementations Effectively communicate step-by-step instructions with non-technical personnel acting as remote hands to install and maintain infrastructure Evaluate existing systems for potential problems/improvements Quickly learn and appropriately utilize internal applications and knowledge bases as needed for timely completion of daily tasks Manage multiple concurrent tasks and function within a fast-paced settingREQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, a related technical degree or equivalent 10+ years of experience in infrastructure design, implementation, management, and support VMware VCA-VCP-DCV, VCAP-DCV Advanced troubleshooting of VMware components - VCSA, ESXi, VDS, HA, DRS Microsoft Active Directory, Domain services Experience with or solid understanding of TCP/IP networking - VLANs, Routing, DHCP, DNS Work in concert with a team or independently to manage project milestones and deliverables, with or without direct supervision/guidance as needed KPI driven, proactive, and motivated for continuous improvement, adaptation, reflection, and growth Experience in tools like SharePoint, Teams, ServiceNow, Jira, SAFe, Confluence, Adaxes, LogicMonitor, InfoBlox, Thycotic, SNOW, Splunk, etc.Technical Requirements: VMware vSphere Enterprise HA/DRS Distributed Switches Update Manager, PowerCLI VM, VCSA, ESXi troubleshooting and maintenanceHands-on Server & Storage Experience: Cisco UCS/Dell/HPE - Rack Servers, Blade Systems SAN Storage - Dell Storage, Nimble ISCSI Networking and Configuration SAN DELL EqualLogic, Compellent administrationWindows Server Administration: Active Directory Group Policies DHCP, DNS, File serversGreat to have: PowerShell scripting; Packet sniffers/WireShark Strong plus, for domain migrations/consolidations Strong plus for additional experience in enterprise security, such as zero-trust networks, network access control, next-generation firewalls, and relatedKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
