A bit about us:We are a young VC-backed company experiencing significant sales and team growth across North America. Our milk management system is a robust Enterprise Resource Platform (ERP) for tracking milk pick-ups and monitoring milk production. The system's 3 modules provide key data for dairy producers (farmers), dairy processors, and overseeing dairy boards. This data can be used to identify process improvements, monitor performance, and maximize overall profitability.

Why join us?For most of our technical roles, we pay above the current market, depending on experience and potential impact. We have excellent health & dental benefits as well as unlimited flex time and vacation days. We also make sure every herd member has quarterly performance reviews and ongoing dialogue through 1 on 1s with their direct managers. We review compensation annually based on this data and external market factors.

Job DetailsTHE ROLEThe main view into the Milk Moovement platform is a unified web portal (built using React) that provides just the right amount of data and controls whether being used by a milk producer, processor, or hauler dispatch. As we continue to grow, the existing web portal will evolve into multiple micro-front end applications with common components and patterns. We're seeking a Senior Front End Developer to join our existing team and act as a technical lead for all front end development. Here are some examples of things would do:Architect, design, and help build scalable front end systemsSet the future course for development practice including use of frameworks, libraries, and coding styleCreate and manage a library of high-performing, reusable UI componentsWork with product owners and the design team to translate business requirements and wireframes into elegant and responsive user interfacesYou will be part of a cross-functional team distributed across North America but with offices in Halifax and St. John's. You should be comfortable coming to our offices if nearby, and not shy on Zoom and Slack if remote.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORWe seek to have a diverse, inclusive, team-oriented, and curiosity-driven herd. Our technical team lives to find unique solutions to the challenges inherent to digital supply chains, and we expect you will be excited to do so as well. You must have extensive front end development experience with Javascript, React, and styling libraries (tailwind, styled components MUI, etc). We expect you will have strong opinions on how best to manage state in complicated web applications. You have probably also been exposed to other popular front end frameworks like Vue, Angular, or Svelte. You will almost certainly have built a half dozen or so complex web applications integrating with backend REST or GraphQL APIs. You may, however, not have any prior experience working in the dairy industry or logistics. That is okay! We will teach you all there is to know about the industry beginning with our Dairy 101 course. It is definitely more complicated than you think and that is why we do what we do! Previous experience working with cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform would be a major plus, but it is not required.Interested in hearing more?
