Job DetailsOur client is looking for a Senior Engineer - CAE Analysis to join our engineering team in Cedar Park, TX. This full-time position offers the opportunity to be a part of a fast-growing company that is revolutionizing the trucking industry. We are seeking exceptionally talented individuals that are highly motivated to revolutionize an industry, reduce the use of fuel and have some fun. The Senior Engineer will be joining an experienced engineering team in the design, simulation, implementation, and testing of mechanical/electrical powertrain systems.Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Powertrain System, Sub-System, and Component Modelling (battery systems, electric motors, cooling systems, engines, transmissions, mounting structures, shielding, etc.)
  • Develop and validate subsystems from analysis models for structural integrity, robustness, durability
  • Develop technology roadmaps for our client simulation and analysis toolsets
  • Manage outsourced CAE activities at third party engineering providers
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to perform structural dynamic analysis including modal, random vibration, harmonic, and non-linear shock FEA analyses
  • Ability to generate accelerated vibration profiles from test data
  • Ability to perform structural optimization analyses
  • Ability to perform impact and crash analyses
  • Correlation of test data with simulation results
  • Core understanding of both conventional and hybrid powertrain systems, including engines, transmissions, motor/generators, and battery systems
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Class-8 truck / commercial vehicle experience
  • Strong follow-through and self-starting nature
  • Ability to communicate with customers (internal and external) positively and effectively, to address their needs promptly and to follow through on commitments
  • Ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work well in a high-paced environment, set and meet appropriate deadlines
  • Competency with Microsoft Office suite
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in structural analysis using finite element software
  • Bachelor's degree in applicable engineering field, Master's degree highly preferred
  • Extensive experience with linear and non-linear structural analysis, bolted joint analysis, thermal analysis, dynamic response analysis, impact/crash analysis, and structural optimization
