Functional Safety Engineer

Are you a highly motivated and experienced Functional Safety Engineer that would love to work for a global leader in the commercial vehicle, financial, and customer service fields.We are seeking a Functional Safety Engineer professional with deep understanding of the ISO 26262 standard. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver critical program goals across multiple projects and continue to enhance global functional and system development processes.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the project adherence with respect to ISO26262 Create and maintain Safety plan to assist the team to define item definitions and perform Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment
• Perform safety analyses: DFMEA, FMEDA, FTA, DFA per ISO 26262 guidelines
• Define the functional safety concept for the relevant system, hardware, and software according to ISO 26262 standards.
• Develop and maintain expertise in automotive best practices for functional safety.
• Support functional safety related audits and assessments.

Requirements:

• BS in Engineering or related field required, MS in Engineering or related field desired
• Experience in system engineering for control systems/code/architecture on autonomous trucks or passenger vehicles
• Experience working with ISO 26262 and other international standards.
• Knowledge of DFMEA, FMEDA, and FTA Understanding of designing, developing, and validating automotive technologies
• Experience with automotive or commercial vehicle networks, such as CAN, SAE J1939 and LIN preferred.
• Experience with functional safety tools (e.g. Medini) and requirements management tools (e.g. IBM DNG)
