Field Service Technician – Oil and Gas - Upstream / Midstream

Provides Maintenance, (including spark plug and/or oil changes), minor repairs, and electrical troubleshooting, as needed on rental, company, and customer-owned oil & gas production equipment such as open flare controls, ECDs, Burner Management systems, Vapor Recovery Units, and other rotary equipment. Assists other team members with repairs, troubleshooting, and startups as needed.

Responsibilities:

Provides Maintenance, (including spark plug and/or oil changes), minor repairs, and electrical troubleshooting, as needed on rental, company, and customer-owned oil and gas production equipment such as open flare controls, ECDs, Burner Management systems, Vapor Recovery Units, and other rotary equipment.

Assists other team members with repairs, troubleshooting, and startups as needed.

The job requires overtime hours and occasional travel with some out-of-town stays.

Supports a philosophy of zero accidents by following all applicable safety procedures and maintaining equipment to operate in the safest way possible.

Basic knowledge and operation of VRUs and Flares.

Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting; Fundamentals of Electronics.

Ability to operate motor meggers, and various types of multimeters sourcing and simulating 4-20ma transmitters.

Experience Reading and Interpreting Electrical, PandID, GA, and Fabrication drawings.

Knowledge and ability to identify 480volt 3 phase components step down to 120vac and step down to 24volt vdc.

Industrial Wiring, Terminating components, Motor Controls, Relay Logic, and PLCs.

Flare Techs Perform tasks while on the man lift at heights 50’ plus.

Responsible for maintenance, inspections, cleaning, and basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting of Vapor Recovery Units and Flares located on customer sites.

Complete Timecards, field tickets, and material transfers with accurate information and turned in daily.

Complete all job-related safety documentation to ensure the job is completed safely.

Keeps Company truck clean and ensures all required maintenance is performed.

Requires Responsible, Self-Motivated individual who can work in a field environment alone.

Working with Electrical motors, starters, and drives.

Working with Vacuum pumps, blowers, and belt-driven/direct drive motors.

Working with pneumatic valves, electric actuators, and process valves.

Computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office application package, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, sit, and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps, and use a ladder.

Ability to perform work tasks while on man lift at heights between 20’ – 50”.

Lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to push/pull using 100 lbs. of force.

Vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Vision to accurately read all related distribution documents and computer monitor screens.

Ability to Travel daily. Outdoor work requires heavy physical labor.

The position is 80% outside the environment.

A worker is subjected to weather elements and must be accustomed to performing tasks in potentially adverse conditions.

Schedule:

Local or Rotational available.

Day Shift only.

70+ hours.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly compensation is DOE.

Time and a half after 40 hours.
