Block Storage Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:A Kforce client is seeking to hire a Block Storage Engineer in Round Rock, Texas (TX).Responsibilities include: Work closely with our IT engineering and delivery teams to partner on rollout of solutions Block Storage Engineer will partner with the organization and other vendors for support Partner with Enterprise Systems Group in a 2-way feedback loop on our experience with products Function in a global -follow the sun- team that manages Tandem DB, Storage Block, File, and Object storage solutions Block Storage Engineer will respond to Incidents with appropriate priority, providing quick resolution, and investigative help to determine root cause Provide proactive health checks, capacity management, firmware updates as necessary to maintain the health of the environment Block Storage Engineer will function as a member of our virtual infrastructure team with the intent of collaboration for all service delivery and incident resolution without our customers having to understand our technologyREQUIREMENTS: 3-5+ years of Block storage experience is required Hands on Block storage experience particularly in compellent large enterprise environment Expertise in File Storage Design and Storage Administration skills in, compellent, EqualLogic, PowerMax, VMAXTCP/IP Networking Expertise working in Linux environments with complementing experience with Unix, Windows Operating Systems and Databases Good experience in performance monitoring, troubleshooting of Block storage, and related technologies Good knowledge and understanding of file storage Management and Replication Tools Good exposure to Host level data/FS migrations Ability to act independently, under minimal direction Strong communication skills, both verbally and written Required to work in US time zone and participate in On-Call rotationsKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
