Senior IT Developer (Corporate Information Systems Department)

This is a remote position.

Our Lincoln, RI office is seeking a Senior IT Developer/Software Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for utilizing and maintaining technical and applications expertise, including the use of technologies, tools, programming standards, established processes, and concepts necessary to develop quality IT solutions within our Identity and Access Management team. A starting annual salary between $98,833 - $135,893 based on level of previous experience. In addition, hired applicants will be eligible for the company's annual variable incentive paid based on company performance. Additional commission opportunities may apply to customer facing sales and service representatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver software that meets established standards as well as expectations for performance, business impact, and user experience
  • Track and address patterns and root causes of shortfalls in technical quality and user acceptance
  • Understand business processes and workflows and core team applications and specializations as reflected in the Developer Competency Matrix
  • Understand and apply agile development best practices, and other approaches for iterative development of production-ready software
  • Focus on test-driven development practices and leverage continuous integration and delivery standards and best practices
  • Follow policies for secure code development and engages in secure coding practices
  • Foster and demonstrate CIS Core Values to achieve service objectives and deliver value
  • Share knowledge to ensure individuals and teams have the appropriate breadth and depth to offer support to the business, projects, and day-to-day operations, including mentoring, providing effective guidance and/or feedback
  • Serve as an internal champion of change initiatives undertaken by the organization
  • Seek out opportunities to learn and apply emerging trends such as best practices and standards
  • Seek challenging assignments that add value to the organization and apply learnings from those opportunities in his or her own role
  • Foster a culture that values learning and creativity both individually and as a team
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to automate development, provisioning, and release work to accelerate and improve the quality of solutions delivery

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years' experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job
  • Experience with SQL
  • Committed to continuous learning including but not limited to training sessions or seminars with a focus on expanding knowledge beyond the current
  • Ability to effectively break down, prioritize and manage multiple competing tasks independently
  • Ability to identify challenges and risks to the completion of work along with communication of those with possible solutions to the appropriate personnel
  • Capable of completing non-routine work independently including conducting research and using appropriate problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
