Job DetailsA great preconstruction engineer is self-motivated and enjoys meeting clients and subcontractors as much as putting numbers together for a well-thought out and detailed budget.Job Responsibilities:
  • Calculate various statistical data - quantity take-offs, material prices, labor costs per manhour, equipment, etc.
  • Research historical data (purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc.) and compile summary reports to develop guidelines and procedures for future estimates/budgets.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and conduct coordination meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate/budget.
  • Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures.
  • Represent our company to clients, potential clients, A/E, and other contractors to provide cost engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.
  • Work on a wide variety of project types in multiple market sectors.
  • Develop strong subcontractor relationships.
Education & Skills
  • College degree preferred in construction/architecture/engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Construction field experience favorable.
  • 0-2 years of construction estimating, cost control and/or related experience.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook, Project), Bluebeam Revu, or similar programs.
  • Great communication skills - written and oral.
  • Attention to detail, analytical approach to problems.
  • Personable and professional
