Test Automation Engineer

Position SummaryWill conduct thorough product testing using automation tools and techniques ensuring agreed upon quality standards are maintained in order to provide the highest quality software products to both external and internal customers. Works closely with the QA Director, and SCRUM team on understanding the business requirements and objectives relative to the desired functionality of products and applications. The Test Automation Engineer will evaluate and test new or modified software to determine that software meets user requirements and established quality standards using automated techniques and best practices. Bring a commitment to QA, experience in performance testing, service level testing for API’s with Postman or Soap, and CICD experience. Ability to serve/grow to lead or senior engineer would be a plus.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesParticipate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including developing test plans, test cases, manual testing, automation, and execution of test scriptsAnalyzes test cases and functional specifications to determine best approach for automating scripts.Develops automated tests to augment manual testing.Documents software issues and enhancement requests and assists development with concise and detailed steps for duplication of the problem.Verifies resolved Change Requests and maintains accurate status for Change Requests entered in each project.Monitors progress against schedule. Assists fellow team members and customers with problem reporting and resolution and maintaining appropriate follow-up communications throughout the resolution process.Ensure all software products meet the highest quality possible by following industry recognized Q/A methodologies and best practicesComplies with company policies and procedures.Performs other duties as needed. Education and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Math, or related field preferred3 plus years experience in test automation / software development preferred3 plus years designing and developing automated testing and writing test plans and cases3 plus years experience in a Quality Assurance role3 plus years in a technology environment or company3 plus years JAVA experience3 plus years SQL experience preferred3 plus years Selenium experience would be preferred, but not requiredExperience with API/Service testing a plusExperience with CI/CD or DevOps a plusSkillsAbove moderate levels English reading comprehension, writing, and speaking, critical thinking, complex problem solving, analysis and evaluations, trouble shooting, judgment, active listening, mathematics, and programming.
