Any HORROR FILMMAKERS looking to collaborate

So I have a fun, edgy horror / thriller script and was wondering if there are any indie filmmakers out there looking for a project to make on a micro-budget.

Before you respond, a few things. this is a semi - one location film about a journalist who is kidnapped and locked in a room. The villan tortures him through tasks and technology. It wasn't meant to be political but it comes across very conservative / right wing and anti-media. When wrtiting this, we needed the main guy to have a controversial job and rather than a judge or typical lawyer / rich guy we loved the idea of a journalist that may or may not bend the truth. Some people are turned off by that and some details in the script, while others absolutely love it. If you are a bit of a conspiracy theorist or at least believe the mainstream media is manipulative, deceptive and evil at times, then you will really like it!

I have made some low budget B movies awhile ago and recently co-directed some award winning short films so I know what I am doing - but I don't have the resources to make a feature by myself. I come from a theatre background. Usually I colloborate with cinematographers / editors or other filmmakers.

The beauty of this script though, is as exciting as I (and many others) think, its also fairly EASY TO MAKE.

nothing is completely easy, there is always some challenegs, but this script does not require raising money

it can be made on a shoe-string and still be something we are proud of. I'm not looking to raise money. I want to make this on the cheap. If we can find a location to build a small set, (which I think i have one) we can make something fun and potentially really good.

Some indie filmakers, nowadays wear many hats - and I can help with casting / produce some of the simple stunt seqeunces Sometimes I direct, but I don't have to, we could co-direct, whatever you want. I am an actor myself. I know some talented actors, we'd just have to cast a few other parts and find a few locations. I have some money that was donated if we need to pay an actress here and there/ food etc. or buy something specific. I also have a couple bucks for post production, getting it into festivals, making posters, making a DCP - - but this is not a job offer- I want to see if any filmmakers want to collaborate.

My biggest selling point is, I think this can be made for next to nothing and we can make something fun and potentially get it distributed. The main location is the biggest challenge. Its the room where the guy is held captive. If we had a million dollars we would rent a studio and build a small room with removeable walls.

I have some leads on a place to build it. We would need a set builder or construction guy.

I have an apartment in New York but I go to North Carolina all the time (more about that when we chat) I put this ad up in NY and was close to making it, but some people recently moved away. I think it would be easier and visually better to film in NC.

I am not in a rush, I want to do this right. but if the pieces all come togther this could happen sooner than later.

A little more about the script Its a HORROR / THRILLER - - sort of like Buried meets - Phone Booth and a hint of Saw. ITS FUN but dark and offensive. I have an agent in NY and he thinks it can sell. I can tell u more about his realisitc plan.

Making a a good trailer is key so some elements are there because we need them. The killing and blood and gore scenes aren't forced but they are there for a reason. Some are there to give the people what they want and so we have a chance of getting into some legit festivals and MAYBE selling this (more about that later) but totally open to collaborating on how and what u want the blood and murder scenes to be - we can change or tweak them. If you have an idea to film a cool killing we can do it your way. Horror kills are not my speciality. I'm pretty set on most of the ending and the dialouge but open to your thoughts. Some suggestions are fine, I just dont want to do a re-write or anything huge, but I am generally easy going if you want to change something.

SYNOPSIS: A local news reporter with an idealic life, is abducted by a devious insurgent.

When he regains consciousness days later, he finds himself locked inside a small wooden room.

He must carry out a number of tasks in order to keep his loved ones safe, while trying to figure out where he is

before his supplies run out.

I'm not in a big rush to make this

but we could start whenever we find the locations.

We could start talking and prepping whenever u read the script if u like it- we can take our time and film in pieces.

Another big draw to this is my approach. We don't have to film 20 days in a row. We can almost break it up by character.

We can do a little here when our schedules align. We will make a big push for the main character in the room but once we get that, most of the other stuff will be B roll and pick up shots for him to watch on a monitor. A lot of the characters are voice only.

One note THE VILLAN is a big part of this and every now and then I get some sensitive type saying he is offensive or even a hint racist - to that i say "he might be, he's the friggn bad guy haha"

Kind of like Gordon Geecko - some hate him, some love him, but he is great for the movie. Think one a wild conspiracy theorist that is intelligent, charming, crazy and well spoken.

must like the villian - he is 99% voice only, kind of like PHONE BOOTH - I have some co-workers who can approach some names to potentially play him as they could do it at their home. No guarentee but some people have already liked the script and said they would consider it.
