Trading Systems Engineer

Our client, the industry's leading FinTech Financial Services firm focused heavily on disrupting B2B institutional finance, is seeking a talented full-time Trading Systems Engineer to work hybrid/onsite in Midtown Manhattan!In order to be considered, you must be a strong Python Engineer. You are primarily strong at coding. You will also provide some trade support (i.e. supporting Operations), suggesting improvements, etc.

You relentlessly automate. Your code is very DRY. You are hands-on, and you have experience providing technical guidance to other engineers. If this is you - we need to talk. You would be working with a team of Engineers responsible for business process automation, data transformation and making it usable across the entire organization. You will work closely with research and operations in order to ensure they have access to the tools and information they need. You will have a major influence on the design of the systems and processes. You will work with the latest cloud-based technologies.

Role Overview:The successful candidate will join their team as a Software Engineer working side-by-side with the firm’s quant research, data science and finance areas while collaborating with business leadership in contributing to the strategic development of our firm. This includes research, analysis, development and delivery of products and projects directly related to the firm’s growth.

• Can lead a major initiative successfully
• Implements the hardest parts of the system and significant features independently
• Critical role in technical direction for the team
• Produces high quality work and improves others by thoughtful code reviews, influences engineering culture.
• Lead and coordinate releases across multiple teams.
• Provide high quality feedback on team mates and collaborators from other teams.
• Help with recruiting of senior engineers.
• Coordinate releases.

Responsibilities:

• B.S. in Computer Science or similar field
• 5+ years of experience
• Working knowledge of Python

Bonus Qualifications:Knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, AWS, Kafka, Prefect
