Our client, a highly prestigious and very well-known global alternative asset management firm, is seeking a full-time Trading IT Developer (front-office). The position is hybrid-based and located in Midtown Manhattan, reporting directly into the Global Head of Portfolio Management and Trading Technology.You will be part of a small, agile team and will be responsible for designing, implementing, testing, documenting, maintaining, and enhancing code. You will get the opportunity to gain a solid understanding of the needs of portfolio managers and traders, and you will gain deep knowledge of implementing critical and business impacting front office applications across a wide range of investment types.Responsibilities:

  • Develop, enhance, and support the firm’s in-house portfolio monitoring and management systems.
  • Work with portfolio managers, traders, and other business users to understand business workflows and requirements.
  • Closely collaborate with the rest of the Technology team to leverage existing applications and frameworks and to follow standards established by the team.
Requirements:
  • Independent mindset, a passion for technology and an appetite for taking ownership, learning new technologies and building innovative products.
  • At least 5 years of development experience in financial services or technology industries
  • Full lifecycle experience including requirements gathering, implementation, testing, release, and support
  • Strong technical and development skills, preferably in C# (other OO languages may be considered for exceptional candidates)
  • Experience with SQL development, preferably in SQL Server environment
  • Exposure to multi-threaded programming concepts
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • .NET Core
  • Entity Framework Core
Pluses:
  • Experience with different financial products – equities, derivatives, fixed income, etc. – and related terminology
  • Experience with order management systems such as Charles River
  • Experience working with market data (e.g. Bloomberg Terminal, Bloomberg APIs etc.)
  • Experience with running applications in containers in the cloud (docker / Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Test Driven Development
  • Experience with Profiling and performance tuning techniques throughout the whole stack
