Job DetailsAs a hardware / firmware development engineer the employee will be responsible for the design, development, support, and documentation of the hardware and firmware related to PID controllers, display units, and power analyzers. Sought is a degreed engineer with applicable course and professional work, ideally in controls, instrumentation and embedded microcontrollers. Candidate must have at least 5 years of proven experience in embedded systems developmentJob responsibilities and requirements:

• Experience designing embedded ARM processors such as Cortex M0, M3, M4 is a must
• Need to have a solid understanding of FPGA architecture and VHDL code
• Hardware and firmware design will be involved with minimal direction
• Firmware is primarily developed using C and assembler as required
• Knowledge of development tools such as assemblers, C compilers, linkers, debuggers, and test equipment such as oscilloscopes and meters is a must
• Verification of firmware applications utilizing hardware prototypes
• Experience with the implementation of Ethernet and USB stacks
• Design of firmware for many different peripherals, including ADC, CPU timers, GPIO, SCI, SPI, UART, and PWM
• Will be expected to design firmware for displays, keypads and user interface hardware

Prior experience with any of the following would enhance the candidate's chances for selection:1. Board level circuit design. Primarily digital2. SmartFusion SOC 3. Kinetis IDE or MCUXpresso IDE4. Altium schematic capture and PC board layout5. LabVIEW programming
