Software Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce's client in NYC is looking for a Software Engineer to assist with growing roadmap items on a new application, performing research, design, and software development. Summary:The Software Engineer will be involved in high level technical designs and implementation of high quality, customer driven solutions. They will perform across the complete development life cycle delivering highly available cloud solutions and adding new capabilities to existing applications. The Software Engineer will work with development teams and ensure the best practices are adhered to in areas such as unit and integration testing, CI/CD, documentation, security, and software design principles. Responsibilities: The Software Engineer will be implementing development processes and coding best-practice reviews in an Agile environment to ensure we deliver quality products and solutions Collaborating with technical team members to understand and finalize complex product requirements and translate them into software designs Interacting with product managers to understand their needs and translate their requirements into effective and robust software solutions Taking ownership of complex technical issues to ensure successful delivery of robust solutions The Software Engineer will be keeping up to date with new technology developments to identify cutting-edge innovations for potential future projects Responsible for reporting progress against schedule for all assigned tasks on a regular basis Contribute to system and application architecture Taking part in code reviews and other development activitiesREQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related major 5+ years of Java Development experience, including prior experience as a programmer in a commercial software development environment 5+ years of development experience using Java (8 & 11) and Spring Boot 5+ years of experience designing and implementing solutions with relational & NoSQL Databases (MS SQL Server, Elasticsearch, MongoDB). 5+ years of experience designing and implementing Web Services (SOAP & REST) Strong object-oriented design skills and a track record of delivering designs to market Expertise with developing testing automation including unit and integration testing using frameworks and tools such as JUnit, Mockito and Postman/SOAP UI Expertise with development and build tools such as Gradle (preferred) or Maven and GitStrong experience with continuous integration and delivery using GitHub Actions and GitLab CI/CD Strong background with Linux operating systems Experience with Docker building images and Kubernetes deployments, services, ingress, config maps and secrets Experience with Cloud providers Microsoft Azure and AWSKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
