After School Site Coordinator

STARTING PAY AT $17 OR $18 PER HOUR. 40 hours per week. NO nights or weekends.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the BASP Director, the Site Coordinator is responsible for supervision, planning, implementing, and organizing the daily Before and After School Program. Major emphasis is on program excellence and developing quality care of the highest standard. The incumbent will supervise any staff and volunteers that are assigned to them, maintain a safe environment for all participants, and communicate with parents/guardians regularly. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Be at least 18 years of age AND possess a high school diploma PLUS credit hours in related fields or working towards CDA/School Age Credential.

OR

Be at least 18 years of age AND possess an Associate’s degree in child development, elementary education, physical education, recreation or related field AND at least two years direct experience working with children under the age of 13 years, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work.

OR

NYS Children’s Program Adminstrator credential AND two years direct experience working with children under the age of 13 years, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work.

OR

School Age Child Care Credential or other Office recognized credential specific to the school-age developmental period AND two years direct ecperience working with children under the age of 13 years, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field.

OR

Two years of college with 18 credits in the above listed areas of concentration AND two years direct experience with children under the age of 13 years, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work.
