Great Plains Auto Body / Kaizen Collision Center is looking to hire an experienced Repair Planner to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified, meticulous, quality-minded who is looking to find a permanent home in their career field.
Desirable Characteristics
The Repair Planner position involves a great deal of contact with the public. For this reason, the Repair Planner should be friendly, accommodating, cheerful, well-groomed, outgoing, and able to get along well with people. These qualities are essential to achieving an acceptable capture ratio. Many shops overlook a tremendous amount of sales opportunity by staffing the Planner’s position with a technical expert who lacks the qualities and people skills mentioned above. This is not to say that a Repair Planner should not be skilled in technical areas, but technical skills alone are not enough to achieve maximum effectiveness in this position. This position requires a person with great discipline and attention to detail to ensure every repair meets not only company standard, but also the customer's approval.
Responsibilities:
Greet each customer in a cheerful, positive manner. Make every effort to make the customer feel comfortable and welcome when visiting the shop.
Listen to the customers’ needs empathize with their situation. Answer questions they have about the process of getting their vehicle repaired.
Assertively inform customers you feel your shop is the best place for them to have their car repaired and you sincerely want their business.
Prepare all Repair Visual Damage Estimates (VDE) in an accurate and efficient manner, keeping in mind the estimate later becomes the blueprint for the repairs.
Diligently negotiate an agreed price on every job that ensures the company’s ability to earn a profit. Make certain to negotiate the agreed price prior to initiating the repairs.
Document all special information (conversation, etc.) for any other staff member who may handle the file during the repair process. This is especially important for the production department, to deliver a finished product exactly as described to the customer during the sale process.
Map vehicles in a timely manner and notify Damage Analysis.
Work with Parts Central to ensure the correct parts are selected on the estimate to process for price matching.
Work with Damage Analysis and verify any supplements for accuracy and insurance conformity.
Review all final bills for accuracy, and thoroughly check the final repairs prior to delivery to the customer.
Requirements:
Estimating experience preferred
Demonstrate an understanding of the repair process, parts usage, and collision industry
Demonstrated customer support/success experience or experience as a client service representative and track record of providing excellent customer care
Excellent writing and grammar skills
Strong active listening skills; able to communicate clearly through phone conversations
Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of individuals
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Eligible to work in the United States
