Darwin Chambers Company is a growing, privately owned company that manufactures and installs controlled environmental chambers for research labs at universities, pharmaceutical companies, and government contractors world wide.
We are looking to hire a Construction Manager immediately
REGULAR DUTIES INCLUDE:
Determine labor requirements and dispatch workers to construction sites.
Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with safety regulations.
Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and customers as necessary to support
Walk-In projects.
Obtain all necessary permits and licenses.
Direct and supervise installation techs and site foreman.
Study job specifications to determine appropriate materials and construction methods.
Select, contract, and oversee workers who complete specific pieces of the project such as mechanical and electrical.
Requisition supplies and materials to complete construction of chambers.
Prepare and submit technician hours, progress and cost tracking.
Develop and implement quality control programs for the Walk-In Department. Take action to deal with the results of
delays, inclement weather, or emergencies at the job site.
Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as
work procedures, complaints, and construction issues.
Investigate damage, accidents or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
Ensure proper recruitment and selection of all Walk-In Technicians. Ensure all Walk-In Technicians are adequately
trained.
Ensure work/ construction is being performed in a timely manner.
Identify rental equipment needs on job site and procure necessary equipment.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
Complete the project scope on time and under budget.
Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction of Walk-In chambers.
Ensure that all project tasks are executed per plans, specifications and company standard operating procedures.
Ensure achievement of gross profit margin targets per financial projections set forth in the business plan through
product improvement.
Ensure achievement of net profit margin targets per financial projections as set forth in the business plan.
Develop a list of needs and ways to improve operations through the process of identifying companies that operate
various operational elements in a super fashion and determine how they do it.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Job Requirements
Above average skills in Customer communication.
The ability to travel overnight 40-60% of the time.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with employees and customers.
Minimum 8 hr. work days.
Computer software experience, specifically, Office Suite.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and wiring diagrams. Education and Experience.
Degree or equivalent experience: Construction Management Degree or Associated experience will be considered.
