moto-i ramen & sake house is looking to hire Hosts, Wait Assistants, Bartenders, and Bar-Backs to join our summer team!

moto-i is a ramen house and American sake brewery located in the Lyn-Lake neighborhood of Minneapolis. Our kitchen features shareable Japanese-inspired small plates like house-made steamed buns and Tokyo straight style noodle ramen. Our bar program reflects our soul with our house-brewed sake that’s brewed on-site and served on tap. Our cocktails rotate seasonally with unique syrups, elixirs, and Japanese flavors.

BARTENDER: Bartenders must have at least 3 years of bartending experience. moto-i is an incredibly fast-paced and busy environment and applicants should be comfortable with volume. Bartenders will need to demonstrate working knowledge and excellence in steps of service and guide guests through the food and beverage menus by making suggestions based on knowledge of our establishment; such as sake, Japanese liquors, ramen, and ingredients.

HOST: The host is the first person who greets and directs guests as they come in. Some duties include managing reservations, properly setting tables with food and drink menus, ensuring tables are ready for seating, monitoring dining activity, and helping direct the flow of traffic in the entryway. Applicants should consider themselves relatively organized and friendly. Hosting position is $18 an hour, part-time and full-time available.

Bar Back/Wait Assistant: This position is an assistant to the servers, kitchen, and bartenders. It combines a hybrid of bar-backing, food running, and bussing. Restaurant experience is preferred but not necessarily required if you have other experience in fast-paced high-volume environments.
