RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client that is seeking a Powertrain Thermal Product Engineer in Warren, MI.Duties Include: Powertrain Thermal Product Engineer will work with CAD designers to complete 3D Packaging in the CATIA V5 environment Release all thermal components CAD content in the PLM system, following all nomenclature Assure targets for investment (engineering and tooling), piece price costs and functional specifications are achieved Assure network and diagnostic requirements are achieved Develop test plan, for thermal requirement, manage and report Lead and/or participate in technical design reviews with suppliers Assure all supplier manufacturing readiness, assembly processing and countermeasure plans are included early in the engineering development phase Track Open Issues, communicate issues to all groups and setup meetings as required to close all issues; Escalate major issues immediately to leadership Plan and execute assembly and component timing alignment with overall program timing and mitigate strategies as appropriate to resolve conflicts As a Powertrain Thermal Product Engineer, you will create and maintain component DFMEA and DVP&R Retrofit, test, rework, and debug on prototype & pre-production vehicles Assure Piece Cost Targets, ED&D Budget, Timing, Weight, and Quality intent is achievedREQUIREMENTS: MS/BS in Engineering (BSME, BSEE) or equivalent experience Minimum of 5 years of automotive engineering experience in Thermal Systems design, development, validation, and production implementation Knowledge of automotive vehicle systems with an emphasis on total vehicle concepts, including, but not limited to: Powertrain Thermal assemblies, components, materials, packaging, and functional specifications Knowledge of design for manufacturing, best practices, total vehicle development processes, global safety requirements, regulations & homologations (including FMVSS, ECE/ECC, and GB) A strong understanding of vehicle development and SORs Knowledge of thermal simulation 1D (Amesim) and 3D (STAR-CCM+) Knowledge of cad tools (preferred Catia v5) Knowledge of software like CAN tools, MATLAB, Simulink Ability to travel as needed to suppliers, test facilities, and assembly plant to manage implementation, under 10% Strong data analysis and reporting experience Experience with DFMEA and DVP&RKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
