HR is undergoing a multi-year transformational effort to implement a next gen Human Capital Management system. You will be a leader on the Test Automation workstream for the HR Technology Transformation Program, working with the System Integrator, functional workstreams, technical workstreams and third-party vendors. You will be focused on testing practices, working closely with architects and product team(s) to design robust automated test strategies to transform QA to enable agile and continuous testing. Will also work within agile teams as a mentor / guide on best testing practices, techniques, and strategies. Will work with Workday as the Cloud-based HCM solution and partner with the Ally HR COEs, HR Operations and Technology teams to successfully test end-to-end system and integration capabilities.

The Work Itself
  • Provide leadership and serve as a knowledge source for end-to-end testing for the HR Transformation solution. Develop test strategies, software testing frameworks, and test automation. Performs unit and systems integration testing.
  • HR Transformation program Test Automation workstream project lead for the end-to-end implementation of Workday as the Core HCM. Report on workstream status, issues and risks while collaborating with a System Integrator to successfully deliver on shared objectives and meet program deadlines. Serve as a technical expert to lower-level engineers on the workstream.
  • Collaborate with the development team in reviews of technical specifications and program configuration with an emphasis on testability.
  • Assurance of readability, changeability, extensibility, and maintainability of solution development and build of appropriate tests.
  • Analyze the requirements and help with defining the acceptance criteria for the features that are being developed.
  • Work closely with the Product team to understand their expectations of how a feature would function. Decompose user stories/requirements to identify what tests need to be created and automated across the full solution stack (business logic, contract, journey, accessibility, visual, performance).
  • Work in tandem with the workstreams to automate tests for the full solution stack (business logic, contract, journey, accessibility, visual, performance).
  • Work with the development and operations teams to debug testing failures
  • Evaluate existing testing methodologies and suggest new techniques that will help deliver high-quality features faster.
  • Improve, maintain, and execute automated testing across the full solution stack.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of QA workflows and test automation best practices.
  • Maintain proficiency in application and use of systems, tools, and processes.
  • Keep up to date on technology trends and may participate in the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions.
  • Closely follow the strategic direction set by leadership when establishing project goals.
  • Proactively become an expert in current and future HR business processes and technology products. Provide creative technology solutions utilizing sound investigative, troubleshooting skills and analysis. Thought leadership to identify process improvements and changes based on project experience.
  • Timely identification and escalation of risks and development of alternative technical and functional approaches when necessary.
  • Embrace Agile principles and perform work in an Agile and Kanban team structure
  • Comply with Change Management, Release Management, IT Risk - Compliance processes and standards.
  • Execute reporting & analytics using BI tools with a sound understanding of metrics and data being analyzed
  • Understand data lake and data warehouse solutions on Snowflake and AWS using streaming and batch processes
  • Leverage DevSecOps techniques and have working experience with modern tools such as GitLab, Jira, qTest, Jenkins and build automation

The Skills You Bring
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in field of test automation
  • Previous experience handling HR data or HR System software (ADP Vantage or Workday preferred), demonstrating discretion and ability to work with confidential information
  • Experience decomposing user stories/requirements to create automated tests.
  • Experience writing code in programming languages.
  • Experience automating tests for the full solution stack (business logic, contract, journey, accessibility, visual, performance).
  • Experience in developing automated tests for APIs (Web Services [REST and SOAP]).
  • Experience using frameworks and tools like Junit/TestNG (Java), Qunit/ Chai (Java Script), Postman, SoapUI Pro, Selenium RC/WebDriver, UFT, Tricentis Tosca.
  • Experience creating and leveraging mocks and stubs to fulfill test automation requirements.
  • Experience with technologies like: GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, Docker.
  • Experience in delivering test automation at the unit, business logic, and integration level testing.
  • Experience building and writing code with unit level tests for web applications and/or services/APIs.
  • Working knowledge of software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build and release processes, continuous integration, and continuous deployment concepts (CI - CD), and test suite development and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of application software development lifecycle concepts and test environment and configuration management concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Automated Test Driven Development (ATDD) or Test Driven Development (TDD) approach preferred.
  • Knowledge of standards in IT architecture and infrastructure. Promote and enforce design and development standards and best practices.
  • Experience in all aspects of the software development life cycle
  • Broad business and technology experience and a good awareness of industry trends and their potential impact on product
  • Have a proven track record of customer satisfaction and delivery success and ability to establish and maintain appropriate relationships with business and IT stakeholders
  • Proven delivery capabilities. Excellent leadership skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Excellent organization skills. Must be detailed oriented, able to design and implement detailed processes for technical activities
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated facilitation skills
