Entry Level Kitchen Staff

Satchel's BBQ is accepting applications for entry level kitchen staff to work at its Ann Arbor location (3035 Washtenaw). Please apply if you are available to work both the lunch shift (9am-3pm) and dinner shifts (3pm-9pm), especially dinner shifts (part-time and full-time available). Responsibilities will include cashier work, dishwashing and prep work. We are looking for folks who are able to work hard in a commercial kitchen but also know how to interact with customers in a positive, fun and appropriate manner. It would be great if you had prior commercial kitchen experience or retail experience, but it is not required. Here's a short list of what we like: (1) showing up to work on time with a positive attitude and ready to work, (2) working steadily throughout the shift without distracting others, (3) possessing basic cooking skills or at least an ability to quickly learn basic cooking skills. We are a small kitchen with lots of things to do including lots of dishwashing and cleaning.if you are picky about the type of work you are willing to do (i.e., "I don't do dishes"), this is not a good fit. Pay is $15-$17 per hour. If you stick around, you can qualify for paid-time off, profit-sharing and retirement benefits (Simple IRA).
