Job Title: Senior Data Platform Engineer

Location: 100% on-site - Round Rock, TX or Hopkinton, MA

Duration: 1 year with extension to 2 years

NOTE: Available only on W2 without sponsorship.

Job Description:

Top Must have Skills:
  • Experience in cloud data engineering and data processing services in Azure, Snowflake, AWS or any other cloud platforms
  • Experience in MPP data technologies like Teradata, Snowflake, Greenplum, Hadoop, Spark, Data Bricks
  • Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms.
  • Have in depth knowledge from Linux Operating Systems to Application processes.
  • Technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleaning.
  • Solid understanding and strong troubleshooting skills in Linux, Storage and Network components/services
  • Proactively identify areas that need improvement and develop solutions to address them

Education/Experience Requirements:
  • 15+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12+ years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 8+ years experience

  • Systems/Software Proficiencies: Massive Parallel Processing technologies including Teradata, Snowflake, Greenplum, Hadoop, Azure.

  • Certifications: Cloud Services, Data Platform skills

  • Interview Process: 1st, 2nd round of the technical interview then Manager interview

Job Overview:We are looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to perform various tasks from end-2-end including Data Ingestion, Data Integration, Data Lake Platforms and Reporting tools. Must be responsible for all database standards, platform use cases and best practices for Dell Data Lake Platforms including MPP clusters, Relational, in-memory as well as NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities/Requirements:
  • Create and main robust and resilient Data Platforms, ETL pipelines to process massive daily volume of data.
  • Providing technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleaning.
  • Experience in cloud data engineering and data processing services in Azure, Snowflake, AWS or any other cloud platforms.
  • Experience in MPP data technologies like Teradata, Snowflake, Greenplum, Hadoop, Spark, Data Bricks.
  • Good understanding of Data Ingestion tools and data modelling.
  • Experiences with data processing pipelines and data governance.
  • Experience in data protection and security policies.
  • Have a strong attention to detail and is entrusted with providing internal and external consultative expertise, accurately documenting requirements, and defining acceptance criteria for the project.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical e-2-e issues and drive towards the resolution.
  • Have in depth knowledge from Linux Operating Systems to Application processes.
  • Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
