2-3 days per week onsite in BostonThis individual is a member of the Systems & Networking group within the larger Information Technology team. S/h/they will be a contributor to a six-person team providing hardware and software implementation and support, leveraging Microsoft, VMware, and Cisco technologies. The primary focus would be to provide end user support and manage Windows and Linux servers in a virtual environment.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:- Support & troubleshooting end-user issues, both remote and on-prem
- Management and triage of daily helpdesk tickets
- General tasks including moves, new user setups, and conference room device maintenance
- Installation of new hardware devices (laptop, desktop, VDI, virtual servers) and software applications
- Onboarding and training of users on video conferencing technologies/Office 365/security best practices/remote access
- Monitor and maintain group of vendor-based & proprietary financial applications and daily data downloads
- Maintenance and support of Microsoft windows-based servers
- Basic administrative tasks for windows/Linux, Office 365 and Active Directory
- Maintain and monitor daily backup jobs
- Administration and maintenance of VMware hosts and virtual machines
- Availability for after-hours support as part of a rotation
- Ensure security of desktop, server, and network devices, including hardening of O/S, deployment of patches and review of vulnerability scans
- Support of private and public cloud-based applications and access
- Undergraduate degree in technology or applicable technical training/certification strongly preferred
- At least 3-5 years of professional experience desired
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft based technologies, including Windows 10/11, Windows 2016/19, Office 365, and SQL Server desired
- Familiarity with VMware or other virtualization technologies
- Scripting/automation knowledge desired
- Financial industry knowledge or experience a plus
- Azure or other relevant cloud experience a plus
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within a client-service mindset
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once
- Meaningful interpersonal and communications skills
- Must be a quick learner, highly motivated, and be able to work independently
- Must be able to work well in a team environment
