We have a new and exciting position available for a qualified Desktop Support Technician to join a business school for an onsite position.You will be expected to deliver exceptional customer service as the face of CompuCom. You will be responsible for interacting and providing hardware upgrades, new technology, and phone support for Faculty and Staff members at the Business School. Critical skills include a focus on being helpful, relatable, and pleasant while deploying hardware or answering questions on new technology.Responsibilities:

  • Building and deploying Windows (Dell) computers for new Faculty and Staff
  • Consulting with Faculty to complete computer purchases using discretionary research funding
  • Managing hardware retrieval from Faculty and Staff that are off-boarded from the University
  • Deploying and supporting Cisco VOiP Telephones
  • Public Printing Support - Managing paper, toner, and device maintenance for public printers located across campus
  • Hardware and Application / Tool Testing in partnership with Desktop Engineering
  • Remote OS upgrades and remotely assisted hardware configuration for Faculty and Staff
  • Documenting all activity and interactions in the ticketing system - ServiceNow
  • Hybrid Classroom Check-Ins and ability to answer connectivity / tool related questions while under pressure
Requirements:
  • Has a proactive, consultative approach to solving issues
  • Customizes the customer experience for every individual all communication, instructions, and product knowledge to the level of the individual
  • Takes a consultative approach when solving issues and is relatable and responsible when interacting with any customer on campus or remote
  • Has the ability to work as both an individual contributor and as part of a team
  • Is reliable - Scheduled hours occur between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM
  • Is enthusiastic about technology and is willing to learn new platforms
  • 2-5 years of related work experience in PC break-fix, an AA degree, or technical training / equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A+ Certification - or able to obtain within first 6 weeks of employment
  • Solid experience and understanding of IT services and products
  • Imaging / Support experience required. Experience with Ivanti, Microsoft InTune, or JAMF a plus
  • Encryption experience with Dell (DDPE) a plus
  • O365 / Exchange and Active Directory
  • Experience with Client printing and WebJet Admin a plus
