Part time: Monday-Friday Noon- 5pm.

Summary: Maintains and cleans the buildings of the New Covenant Presbyterian.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

1) Sets up and takes down needed chairs, tables, equipment, etc., for church meetings

2) Represents the facility, if needed, in potential emergency situations.

3) Cleans all aspects of the facility and consistently ensures the cleanliness of facility. See below Cleaning Service Schedule.

4) Maintains proper thermostat settings throughout the facility.

5) Keeps lighting operational throughout the facility.

6) Ensures safety devices such as fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and emergency lights are operational and inspected as required.

7) Ensures the facility is free from hazards to the staff, congregation, visitors, and vendors.

8) Empties trash containers and disposes of trash/rubbish found throughout the grounds.

9) Performs minor repairs including, but not limited to plumbing and electrical services.

10) Performs immediate and temporary repairs in an emergency situation.

11) Coordinates the utilization of outside vendors for services needed beyond the scope of this position.

12) Inspects the facility and maintains a status report of potential building and ground issues and advises and/or updates supervisor of issues as needed.

13) Plans with supervisor and carries out seasonal tasks such as hurricane preparation.

14) Orders supplies as authorized and maintains an adequate amount of supplies needed to meet the requirements of this position.

15) Ensures all equipment and supplies are properly stored.

16) Performs other responsibilities as directed within the limits of the position.

17) Able to lift 75lbs safely and comfortably.

Other Considerations:

Because of the nature of the tasks the Facility Supervisor needs to be in good physical condition. Must be able to climb ladders, unassisted; must be able to stand for extended periods of time; As well, must be able to read and understand labels and instructions in the English language. Must be able to pass a background investigation. Constant supervision is typically not provided.

Cleaning Service Schedule

Stalter Center (except two large rooms)- daily.

Administrative Building, and two large rooms in Stalter Center - Monday and Thursday.

Sanctuary Building- Tuesday.

1. General Cleaning

a. All trash receptacles to be emptied, trash removed to a collection point, damp wipe cans if needed and reline.

b. Clean and polish drinking fountains/water dispensers.

c. Kitchen/break room areas: damp wipe tables, chairs, counters, interior of microwaves, exterior of appliances and clean sink. Check walls and cabinets for splash/spill marks and remove as necessary. Damp mop floors.

d. Thoroughly dust all horizontal surfaces: including desktops, files, windowsills, chairs, tables, telephones, pictures, and all manner of furnishing in above named areas. Damp wipe above horizontal surfaces as needed.

e. Dust mop hard surface floors with a non-treated dust mop.

f. Damp mop hard surface floors to remove any spillage or soiled areas taking care to corners, along edges, beneath mats and furniture and chairs.

g. Vacuum all carpeting and carpet mats, taking care to get into corners, along edges and beneath furniture and picking up mats and chairs to clean floors underneath.

h. Damp wipe entrance metal and door glass.

i. Damp wipe telephones using disinfectant.

j. Spot clean partition glass.

k. Use a high co-efficient disinfectant for proper sanitation.

2. Restrooms

a. Stock towels, tissue, and hand soap.

b. Empty sanitary napkin receptacles and damp wipe with disinfectant

c. Empty trash receptacles and wipe if needed.

d. Clean and polish mirrors.

e. Wipe towel cabinet covers, all dispensers and baby changing tables (if applicable) using a disinfectant.

f. Toilets and urinals to be cleansed and disinfected inside and out. Polish bright work.

g. Toilet seats to be cleaned on both sides and disinfected.

h. Scour and disinfect all basins. Polish bright work.

i. Dust partitions, tops of mirrors and frames.

j. Remove splash marks from walls around basins.

k. Wet mop and rinse restroom floors with disinfectant.

Monthly Cleaning

a. Accomplish all high dusting up to 12 feet, not reached in the above- mentioned cleaning including fans, light fixtures, door frames, high corners and air vents. (task must be accomplished without use of a ladder.)

b. Remove finger prints and marks from around light switches and door frames.

c. Vacuum pews cushions.

d. Clean interior of ovens, refrigerators, freezers, ice machines.

Quarterly Cleaning- Wash interior and exterior sides of all windows up to 12’ high. Damp wipe frames and clean blinds.
