LaSalle Network is currently partnering with a client, a packaging supplier of plastic, glass and metal containers, that is seeking a
Senior Technical Support Engineer to join their team. This position is based in Chicago and the person will be expected to be onsite but will be offered some remote flexibility. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. Senior Technical Support Engineer Responsibilities:- Identify, diagnose, research, track and resolve technical problems
- Escalate issues and facilitate user assistance from third parties or other IT groups as needed
- Deploy, manage and document a wide variety of devices and applications running primarily on Lenovo desktops, ThinkPad laptops, Apple mobile and computer devices and Polycom Telephony Equipment
- Configure and repair workstations, laptops, dealer boards and blackberries on a timely and independent basis
- Interact independently with end users and meet all assigned user support and IT project commitments
- Regular activities include network engineering and troubleshooting, project management, mentorship of Technical Support Technicians, data cabling, systems administration in a variety of software and hardware environments, telecom/mobility administration, root cause analysis in problem solving and assistance in managing the daily activities of the department
- Bachelor's degree is preferred
- 5+ years of experience required with relevant skills
- An ITIL qualification or familiarity with the ITIL framework is preferable but not essential
- Technical certifications from either Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, Citrix, CompTIA, Apple, etc. are highly preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in programming/scripting with an emphasis on automation of engineering and administration functions
- Experience with projects involving large scale desktop deployments
- Willingness to travel on occasion to remote offices domestically and internationally
- Display and apply knowledge of technologies including but not limited to: Apple OS/IoS, Office 365, WAN/LAN Technologies, SCCM, VM, Windows OS, Active Directory and PowerShell
