- Must have a strong background in managing Linux servers, building them from scratch, and understanding the ins and outs.
- Strong understanding and experience with load balancing in a multi-server situation.
- Will be responsible for looking for errors using Kibana, and interacting with the development team on what you find.
- Will be checking system health by monitoring the metrics, traffic and system uses.
- Embrace DevOps practices to improve platform performance, measurability, and service delivery.
- Write automation code in Go, Python, and Bash to automate processes.
- Collaborate with software developers on application design, with the aim of meeting security, performance, scalability, and resiliency goals.
- Respond to system emergencies as part of an on-call rotation, troubleshooting or escalating to software engineers as appropriate.
- Collaborate with team members to build production and development systems.
- Work with the development team to build CI/CD infrastructure and repeatable service delivery patterns
- Will be participating with various infrastructure projects
- Professional experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure).
- Must be comfortable working as an independent contributor with minimal direction. Previous start-up experience is preferred.
- Demonstrable experience managing Linux systems.
- Demonstrable experience in a high-level programming language (Java, Go, Python, Ruby).
- Basic understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery processes (CI/CD).
- Firm grasp of the technologies that underlie the Internet (TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTPS to name a few)
- Experience managing virtual servers in a high-availability production environment
