Our client is a well-established leader in the financial services industry. They are looking for a Backend Software Developer - Java to support a suite of fintech products and projects by providing backend code and solutions using Java, Spring, SQL, and REST services. This is a remote position.As a member of a small team you will have the opportunity to work on all aspects of the application including tackling the SQL database design, backend Java APIs, defining and configuring the deployment pipeline, and interfacing with key business partners. The solutions focus on the unique needs of community banks and credit unions. They have launched an ambitious effort to develop new software products and services for banks and financial professionals including an online CD marketplace, a bond trading platform, analytic and data aggregation tools, and credit risk analysis tools.Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product owners on user stories and deliverables in an agile environment.
- Work on both internal and external facing aspects of the application.
- Develop scalable, secure Java services and APIs in Spring.
- Create a resilient and secure application using relevant validation and security standards.
- 4+ years Java backend development.
- Proficient developing REST services.
- Ability to research and resolve programming problems independently.
- Ability to work effectively remotely.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as git.
- Experience processing XML.
- Experience with real time and event systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
