Malama Maui Nui is seeking a highly organized and detail oriented, in office, administrative support professional with bookkeeping experience to ensure the smooth function of MMN operations and financial reporting. This person will be highly dynamic and enjoy having a hand in all functions of an organization, from assisting in setup and execution of events to performing daily bookkeeping functions. As Office Manager/Bookkeeper, they are responsible for the day to day administrative and financial accounting duties of the organization including but not limited to: attending and assisting with event set up and execution, preparing data for grant reporting, reviewing and recording to the accounting system all necessary general ledger transactions, accurately recording grant expenditures and inputting data into reports, reviewing and recording donations received, reconciling petty cash accounts, and maintaining accurate records and files as prescribed by the company’s Fiscal Procedures and Policies.
This position is required to work in an office environment and outside in the field. Time spent in the field will vary depending on specific needs. Candidates can expect to spend a significant amount of time working outdoors in inclement weather including but not limited to hot/cold, wet/dry and windy/humid conditions.
Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalency.
Preferred Experience: 2+ years of bookkeeping or general accounting experience and previous experience managing a office
Certificates, License, Registrations: Certification: Ability to complete Fist Aid/CPR certification within the first year of hire. Licensure: Valid Type 3 Hawaii State Driver’s license with a clean traffic abstract
