Software Engineer - Merchandising

I/S provides the information technology required for all Publix business units including retail stores and all office and warehouse environments. The Publix I/S mission is to maximize the value of information technology to Publix associates and customers. As a Software Engineer on the Merchandising Applications team, you will
- Work closely with Merchandising applications development and support
- Work as liaison between Merchandising team and the retail business users of Merchandising applications
- Work independently and within a team environment to discover, analyze, and identify system issues
- Analyze systems to find and recommend process improvements
- Communicate effectively with business team members
- Proactively communicate with management and the team on issues and/or any system changes
- Document systems issues and recommend solutions based on data and statistical analysis
- Serve as an application expert on assigned application(s)
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related analytical field or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years software engineering experience in web, mobile or application development
- 1-3 years experience planning, organizing, and managing all activities associated with delivering solutions in a large-scale distributed environment
- 1-3 years experience working with enterprise database management systems (e.g., SQL server, Oracle)
- 1-3 years experience working with SQL
- Strong working knowledge of R/Python
- Experience in identifying and supporting process improvements
- Experience working for large company and within a matrix organization
- Knowledge of Infrastructure, related systems client/server, Web applications and Cloud computing
- Basic concepts of Item/Product master data in Retail and/or Manufacturing industry domain
- Experience performing data analysis by creating and executing queries, interpreting results, and communicating finding to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience and knowledge of project and problem management, change management, process improvement and other systems development processes
- Experience with machine learning
- Experience supporting data and process governance of distribution system compliance in accordance with company policies and standards
