Senior IBM i RPG Developer (Contract-to-Hire)

Our leading financial services client in Tampa, Florida is in need of a senior-level

IBM i RPG Developer with leadership experience to join their team. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire position working a hybrid work schedule (Monday & Friday working remotely / Tues-Thurs working in the Tampa (West Shore) office). Local (Tampa) area candidates preferred or those willing to relocate to the Tampa area.

IN THIS ROLEYou will work on the development and maintenance of software in direct support of customer business needs across internal development platforms.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Designs, develops, maintains, and supports multi-platform application systems to increase productivity and promote reusability
• Interact with customers and other Systems department personnel to design, develop and maintain business applications
• Provides recommendations on methodology and development environment improvements. Uses knowledge and experience in solving complex problems
• Supports the creation of test plans and debugs programs
• Examines job requests from user departments for feasibility and impact on current applications systems
• Leads and mentors other developers

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of development experience in RPG/400, RPG-ILE, RPG Free, CL
• Recent leadership experience (guiding, mentoring, etc.) other IBM i developers
• Experience with Service Programs, ILE modules, bound programs, binding directories, etc.
• Experience in IBM DB2 and SQL working experience with exposing IBM i (iSeries) programs for web applications (stored procedures, web services, etc.)
• Experience with Aldon, WebSphere Development Studio, or similar IDE
