Who We Are

We are a business located in Opa-Locka, FL (OPF Airport) with 4 office suites

We use a shared office rack/patch panel (Router, Firewall, APU, Switch)

We have a basic network, (no servers)

We have about 15 computers/laptops total.

We have a mix of HP & Brother printers, peripherals, IP cameras

We use IP telephony with a telco management company.

We use Office 365 for collaboration and document sharing

Some staff use company iPhones (4 appx)

Some staff use company iPads (10-15 appx)

We use a data/patch panel room in a shared office environment.

We operate a satellite office in Sunny Isles, Fl (one computer, router environment)

We operate a small office space in Boston (Norwood) rarely will ever support it

-What I Need

I want to create a topology map and overall network/IT resources binder to document all about our IT/Network infrastructure. (I have been loosely growing documentation list myself)

I want to be able to look into this binder and know what piece of equipment is where and for what by looking at this document. From incoming WAN connection, 3rd party providers, phone, emails, account numbers, passwords, router/switch/firewalls, to every computer, every hardware, every IP camera.

Each peripheral will have their own page of documentation. I.E… a computer will be listed and all the model, serial and technical specs of this equipment, what it does, and who uses it primarily as well as any specialty software that this computer runs.

After the above is done, we will have gotten to know each other, and we can work on creating a role/job for you.

I need someone to serve as our active break/fix person who can diagnose & repair network issues, printers, computers for our employees.

You will also serve as a point of contact to provide user support for Office 365 and or Network issues.

You will add to a cloud document issues that came up, steps taken to resolve.

We will create a basic “What to Do if” for employees to do some basic tasks before contacting support… This checklist will be laminated and put on every desktop.

Working with me, we will complete work as needed. There may be times when both of us have to get involved or you need access/approvals etc. My goal is that you become my “technical IT/Network” person as we grow the company.

We use a telco provider that handles troubleshooting, extension management, and other services.

About You

If you know Office 365 admin center, understand/know computer repair (A+ tech for example or you took a course a long time ago) and have networking skills to provide O365 user support as well as break fix, then this can work. If you love the world of networking, computers, fixing, repairing and finding solutions to help us run the business as efficient as possible then this may be a great fit!

I do not mind you addressing things remotely with me, but we DEFINITELY need someone to pop their head in at least once or twice a week, preferably Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons.

The most important area I see is to be ready if needed to take action immediately for hardware needs…i.e. A laptop breaks, or power outage occurs, or something that no one can figure out and remote is not an option and you need to come onsite to address issues.

The biggest thing I am looking for is someone that is trustworthy and takes initiative to get things done. I need you as my “right hand man” to call on when it comes to dealing with net/IT infrastructure needs. The more we can create a networked environment that is minimal in issues, the more employees are getting work done.

I am involved in the DevOps side and former software dev and manage our full stack dev, and work in evolving a company cloud portal software/apps system and use Azure services for our development platform. I also handle and manage all marketing/website/seo operations to advance company agendasas well as any other hat with owner.

Long term goal: You grow with us. As we advance in the industry, we are looking to grow into other facilities and we will always want someone to help us handle our IT infrastructure and Networking needs. If we grow, you grow.

Pay Rate

$35/hr as a 1099 position.

Realistically, the role may consume about 10 hours a week. After the initial objectives, we can decide the best path forward that fits your needs/schedule etc.

If you want or show initiative in other aspects of work for the company, we can expand the role further in areas that may be loosely technical or administrative depending on you want/needs. This we can decide overtime. (.i.e. gradually integrate you into Azure/Cloud development and integrate you into PM work with developers or on-site industry software needs, parts handling etc)

We used to run an MSP that was a horrible experience, we will keep, own and control all our IT assets.
