At Agilent Technologies, we are looking for an

Electro-Mechanical Engineerto provide design and engineering support for our exciting Chemical Analysis business as well as new lines of business currently in development. Located in Wilmington Delaware, this group is part of the Gas Phase Separations Division. Our Gas Chromatography business is an industry leader in both market share and performance. Agilent has a track record of innovation and operational excellence and is building on this reputation and expanding into new lines of business. This is a high-visibility product line where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to one of Agilent's key business segments. We are looking for a dynamic individual who has proven technical leadership abilities and soft skills to support the existing product line and to design and deploy new production processes and equipment for new products.

The candidate should be able to design and construct electromechanical systems and develop processes for manufacturing equipment used to produce and test low- and high-level assemblies. This custom manufacturing equipment employs a wide variety of automated features, including instrument control, electronic sensing, motion control, machine vision, and data collection. This position will play a critical role in introducing new products and scaling manufacturing operations while improving quality, yield, and efficiency.

Job Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Define, build, qualify and support the electrical/control features of custom manufacturing equipment and evaluate equipment safety.
  • Improves products, processes, applications, and components to meet agreed-upon objectives.
  • Supports and implements the transition of products and manufacturing processes from prototype to full production and through the entire life cycle of the product.
  • Work with various groups, chemists, manufacturing engineers, maintenance, and technicians to evolve production lines through the application of technical and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Work as a member of a global team to problem solve, troubleshoot, and develop processes and equipment that provide trusted answers for our customers.
