RESPONSIBILITIES:A Kforce client is seeking to hire a Senior Standards & Simulation Engineer in Greenwood Village, Colorado (CO). Our client strives to connect their customers to superior communications and entertainment products with the highest quality service.Responsibilities include: Develop and execute link and system-level simulations focused on higher-layer protocols Senior Standards & Simulation Engineer will represent client in 3GPP RAN WG2 (RAN2) to drive areas/ topics of client's interest around split-RAN architectures and interfaces, radio performance counters, etc. Absorb and implement technical concepts from a wide array of sources including conference papers, design document, and standards specifications Senior Standards & Simulation Engineer will contribute to invention disclosures and innovation in the area of 5G/6G wireless technology Collaborate with members of Wireless R&D Standards team to support their needs in above areas Record of peer-reviewed publications and patents in above areasREQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Electrical/Communication Engineering or in Computer Science; Ph.D. degree is preferred 5+ years of related work, research, or simulation experience in wireless technology Experience with simulation of higher-layer protocols in C/C, ns3 and/or MATLAB Particularly MAC, RLC, PDCP, and/or protocols such as TCP, UDP, QUIC, HTTP, and MPTCP Expertise in 3GPP's Radio Access Network (RAN) Working-level knowledge of 3GPP RAN WG2 (RAN2) LTE and/or 5G, higher-layer protocols Working-level knowledge of 3GPP RAN WG2 (RAN2) or experience in link/system-level simulation of higher-layer communications protocols. Strong understanding of physical-layer signal processing, MIMO-OFDM waveform aspects, channel estimation, HARQ, link adaptation, beamforming, multiuser scheduling, and interference mitigation techniques Familiarity with the radio architecture of 3GPP NR and LTE, including 36.2xx and 38.2xx specifications Experience as a delegate or back-office support in 3GPP's radio groups e.g., RAN1, RAN2, or RAN3 Proficiency in C/C, MATLAB, or Python, along with version control tools such as Git Excellent oral and written communications skillsKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
