(US01) Location: Santa Barbara, CA Arthrex, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer I with experience working with Unity3D. Individual will lead the frontend development of our Virtual Implant Positioning (VIP) software for orthopedic surgeons worldwide! They will champion and drive the development of cross-platform web and mobile strategy for software application. Must have 5 years of relevant experience including advanced experience with web development frameworks. Minimum of 2 years of contributing to entire software development lifecycle required. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelors degree in a related field preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops a cross-platform web and mobile strategy for software applications that can be rapidly and safely delivered through an automated build process that integrates into our quality and security tools.
  • Develops web and iOS applications with Unity3D and JavaScript based languages, such as Angular.js, React.js, Node.js, etc.
  • Translates abstract requirements into functional code to meet intended objectives and key results.
  • Implements intuitive user interfaces with guidance from our User Experience team.
  • Ensures software design/development SOP compliance including planning, verification, validation, and implementation.
  • Collaborates closely with various departments and teams across to develop and deliver the best frontend experience possible for both surgeon and patients.
  • Reports progress and status of assigned projects regularly with emphasis on reporting results.
  • Serve as a domain technical contributor and support project deliverables through Agile methods.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.
  • Stays abreast of emerging technologies and recommends process improvements accordingly.
  • Proactively communicates ideas, results, recommendations, and status effectively.
  • May supervise and mentor the activities of lower level personnel and lead multiple projects.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree in relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant product development experience is required.
  • Minimum of 2years of contributing to entire software development lifecycle required.
  • Proven experienceleading projects.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
  • Experience with Unity3D for large scale applications required.
  • Advanced experience with web development frameworks such as Angular.js, React.js, Vue.js etc. required.
  • Experience with Apple App store, Testflight, and mobile deployment.
  • Experience with unit test frameworks required.
  • Strong understanding of source code management, IDEs, defect tracking systems required.
  • Advanced experience debugging, troubleshooting, and optimization frontend applications required.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment (i.e. Scrum, Kanban) required.
  • Agility in problem solving and troubleshooting and exceptional self-management skills required.
  • Experience with mobile development frameworks such as Swift preferred.
  • Experience with backend framework such as Node.js and both NoSQL and relational DBs preferred.
  • Experience with AWS technologies and architectures preferred.
  • Experience with system development lifecycle practices preferred.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills: Knowledge of debugging, interfaces, and tools; software development environments; static code analysis, network protocols.
