RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client in San Diego, CA that is looking for a Remote PHP Developer II.Summary:The PHP Developer II plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of tasks related to the company's information technology functions. This full stack development role is primarily responsible, under intermittent supervision, for planning, designing, coding, and supporting web applications in a LAMP environment using industry best practices.Essential Functions: PHP Developer will develop web-based applications based on business requirements Collaborate with teammates to strategically determine project scope and approach; align development with company goals Drive new features on existing core products, as well as maintain existing code Partner with third-party web APIs and develop APIs for in-house systems in line with company budget and timeline As a PHP Developer, you will document functionality in-line and in our documentation wiki Analyze and present design decisions to Management as needed Identify, investigate, and resolve platform bugs and issues; Communicate findings and decisions to stakeholders Write, test, and debug customizations and new features Implement security updates and patches as required Monitor and optimize site usability, while anticipating need for updates and troubleshooting Lead discussions for project planning sessions Uses expertise to direct and answer questions from less experienced teammates Respond to escalated inquiries and problems that cannot be resolved by more junior teammates PHP Developers train and work closely with less experienced employees, and provide recommendations to improve processes Participate in creation of training materials and job aids, as well as any new rollouts or updates Work to distribute technical knowledge throughout team Perform other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree required; BS in Computer Science or related field preferred, along with a minimum of three years of experience in software/web development related role(s) Proficiency in LAMP architecture and OOP Experience with MVC frameworks, Laravel is a plus Strong HTML, CSS, JSON/XML, SQL skills Experience with JavaScript/jQuery and AJAX Experience with AS400 systems is a plus Self-starter with the demonstrated ability to learn/adapt to new technologies and techniques Ability to document processes and procedures Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Excellent interpersonal skills required Highly detail-oriented and organized Ability to think critically, including the ability to evaluate facts and data to draw conclusions and determine the long-term impact of decisions and associated risksKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
