Job DetailsSummaryUnder the direction of the Director of Facilities Maintenance, the Facilities Engineer is responsible for providing mechanical engineering support for all HVAC or other industrial equipment, including design, layout, or modification of new or existing systems; managing facilities projects or programs of various scope, schedule, and budget such as new building construction or repair, new/upgraded tool or equipment installation, etc.; developing, updating, and reporting various energy, water, or CO2 consumption or emission reports; preparing and updating all building layout diagrams using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. This position is located in Northern San Jose area, California.Essential FunctionsAdministers, maintains, and supports all HVAC or other industrial equipment, including the installation, design, layout, and modification of new or existing systemsResponsible for maintaining building management and environmental treatment systemsManages facilities projects or programs of various scope, schedule, and budget, including new building construction or repair, new/upgraded tool or equipment installations, etc., ensures project is completed within the required timeline and budgetDevelops, analyzes, and reports on various performance metrics, including energy and water consumption or CO2 emissions; creates reports, charts, or graphs as neededResearches, develops, and manages programs which reduce energy consumption and emissions to ensure that environmental and safety standards are consistently metPrepares and updates all building layouts, including cubicle diagrams, emergency or evacuation routes, equipment, tool, or laboratory layoutsAdministers, prepares, and updates equipment Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI's); initiates Change Control Notifications (CCN's) as needed to ensure documentation remains up-to-dateProvides technical assistance or trouble-shooting guidance for building maintenance and environmental management software applicationsResponds to requests from employees and departments regarding facilities-related issues or supportAdheres to all safety policies and procedures as requiredMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering and/or equivalent relevant experienceTwo years of experience working in building management, construction, or facilities in a manufacturing environmentExperience using environmental, electrical, or industrial controls systemsExperience using AutoCAD, Autodesk, and BACnet building and environmental management application as well as Automated Logic Control (ALC) and KMC ControlsProficient in the use of Microsoft Office ApplicationsKnowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesKnowledge and ability to provide engineering support for HVAC or other industrial systemsKnowledge and ability to use Autodesk or AutoCAD to create, update, and maintain building layouts and designsKnowledge of HVAC systems, automation, and environmental controlsKnowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office applications to create spreadsheets, Word documents, and presentationsAble to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of contractors, consultants, employees, and managementAble to work productively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and managementAble to comply with all safety policies and proceduresAble to analyze data, create reports, and present findings or recommendationsDemonstrated organizational and time management skillsDemonstrated project or process management skillsDemonstrated problem-solving and trouble shooting skillsDemonstrated analytical and critical thinking skillsFlexible and able to prioritizeWorking ConditionsThe Facilities Engineer works primarily in an office environment from Monday thru Friday. The schedule may be altered from time-to-time to meet business or operational needs; may travel from building-to-building as needed. May occasionally work outdoors; may work in a class 100 ESD sensitive wafer manufacturing facility; wears a cleanroom suit, including hood, gloves, safety glasses, booties, and mask. May be exposed to hazardous conditions, chemicals, fumes, and/or gases during the course of work day; may be exposed to loud noise. may work in close proximity to moving mechanical parts. Stands and walks, bends and twists, and crawls. Performs various fine grasping movements; operates a computer and enters information using a keyboard, operates a telephone, and other office equipment.
