The Position:
Derivi Castellanos Architects is seeking a talented Architectural Designer/Job Captain and Architectural Drafter to join our growing practice. In addition to a competitive salary and benefits package, this position offers potential upward mobility for the right candidate.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, or as-needed to meet workflow and project deadlines, with occasional night meetings and occasional travel.

Abilities and Responsibilities:
Ability to create documents in AutoCAD/Revit to construct a building or remodel of a building
Knowledge of system engineering related to architectural documents, such as Civil, MEP and structural
Ability to complete a set of architectural documents in AutoCAD/Revit
Ability to review and provide direction to a Team on how to correct work prior to being distributed
Ability to take written and verbal direction in development of architectural documents; through mark-ups, sketches and review of existing information to develop DD’s, CD’s, Details, Exhibits, etc.
Ability to create and edit supporting architectural documents, such as Specifications, Spreadsheets, Transmittals, Reports, Schedules, etc.
Ability to interact with engineering consultants such as Civil, MEP, Structural, etc.
Ability to survey existing conditions; taking accurate and legible field dimensions, measurements and notes of existing conditions
Ability to conduct jobsite observations and communicate coordination items during Construction Administration
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
AutoCAD and Revit Skills
College Level schooling in Drafting, Design, Architecture; minimum of 3 years; or Drafter in Construction and or Manufacturing; minimum 5-7 years
Construction Administration experience or Construction/Manufacturing experience
Excel and Word Proficient
Experience with DSA preferred, but not required
Desirable Skills and Experience, but not required:
Revit Skills; minimum of 2 years preferred
Sketch-up skills; minimum of 2 years preferred
Degree in Architecture
Started/Completed NCARB’s ARX Program or taking Licensing Exams
Drafting experience with an Architectural Firm
Knowledge of School Construction
Knowledge of Steel and Wood Construction
Knowledge of Quality Control/Assurance Methods
